Welcome to Milford on Sea Dementia Action Group 2020
It is with sadness that we have to continue to tell you that our groups in Milford, both those run by ourselves and by the Alzheimer’s Society, will be unable to meet for the rest of this year. We will be reviewing the situation for 2021.
People who are living with dementia are known to be very vulnerable to the corona virus. But self isolation will also have had a profound effect. The Alzheimers Society have been working hard to keep in touch with people
Their support has grown to include keeping safe and welfare calls to everyone they know about, and weekly Singing for the Brain via Zoom. They also have a team of volunteers making calls. In our local area the Dementia Action Group have worked with the Mutual Aid Group to ensure that people have had access to the volunteers delivering shopping and prescriptions, as well as making phone calls. This service is still in place, so if you, a relative or friend needs some support, please get in touch through the contact page. Our fundraising efforts are also on hold, but the funds already raised are safely held, so that we will be in a very good position to restart the groups, when we are allowed.
Have a look at the Useful Information page for links to other websites, and a whole range of information sheets about dementia.
